Olympic Creed, Motto, and Inukshuk

Did you know... there is an Olympic Creed: it applies to every day life as well: "The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well."

The Winter Olympics for Kids page includes both the above creed and the Olympic Motto: "Swifter, Higher, Stronger". It also has crafts and other fun kids activities for "Canada Day".

According to a front page Wall Street Journal article by Phred Dvorak, "Michelin Man Meets Stonehenge: To Birth an Olympic Rock Star", the Vancouver Olympics LOGO has created a sensation. Now there are Inukshuk images and statues all over Canada. The rock image is on hats, jackets, key chains, and everything under the sun. I have the image on my hooded sweatshirt (see above).
